Christopher Modlin Obituary
A beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend, Chris was a graduate of East Carolina University and was the original owner of Tropical Smoothie Café in the Lynncroft Shopping Center in Greenville. He was a member of Cedar Branch Baptist Church in Jamesville. Those that knew Chris will always remember him for his dynamic personality and generous spirit. He enjoyed traveling and was a movie and music enthusiast. Chris also took great pride in being an uncle to his niece and nephew.
Chris was preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Milton and Mae Jackson; and paternal grandfather, Dalma Modlin.
Chris is survived by his parents, Roger and Ann Modlin of Jamesville; brother and sister-in-law, Greg and Johnna Modlin of Greenville; niece, Grace Modlin of Greenville; nephew, Braden Modlin of Greenville; and his maternal grandmother, Deslea Modlin, of Jamesville. He is also survived by many cherished friends and family members.
The family will receive friends tonight from 7-8:30 at Biggs Funeral Home in Williamston.

I taught Chris several Marketing classes at ECU. He was a good student, and a wonderful gentle person. I am very saddened by his loss, so untimely. I will never forget his kind face always with a sweet smile. I will keep his parents and family in my thoughts and prayers.

I'm very sorry to hear about Chris, he worked with me in the Registrar's Office at ECU when he was a student there. I have never met a more gentle soul, he always had a smile on his face, even in the bad times. He will be missed by all he touched in his life.

So sorry to about Chris, I met him when I worked at ECU and he was a student. He was absolutely one of the most outgoing and friendly people I've ever known. Whenever I would see him, he was always smiling and glad to stop to chat. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Chris was one of the most optimistic, caring souls I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. Even through all he endured, he always had a smile on his face and love in his heart. He was my student several years ago, and a good, good friend ever since. I will miss him greatly.
