Jerry Bradford "Brad" Jones Nashville - Jerry Bradford "Brad" Jones, 43, passed away Monday, June 24, 2024. Memorial service will be conducted Wednesday, July 3, 2024 at 11AM at the Momeyer Baptist Church, 4967 Momeyer Way, Nashville, NC 27856. Brad was a native of Pitt County and was a 1999 graduate of Fike High School in Wilson, NC. He graduated from East Carolina University in 2003, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Religious Studies. He later attended Gardner-Webb School of Divinity, earning a Masters of Divinity in Pastoral Care and Counseling degree in 2006. Brad felt the call of vocational Christian ministry as a student at ECU. He was ordained in 2004 by First Baptist Church in Valdese, NC. Since that time, he has served as a youth pastor, associate pastor, and as a pastor at churches in both North Carolina and Virginia. He served the congregations and communities of Valdese, NC; Nashville, NC; Concord, NC; Windsor, VA; Bethel, NC; and the Momeyer community. His philosophy of ministry was focused on reconciliation with God as a believer in Jesus Christ and being in right relationship with others. As a servant of Jesus, he strongly believed the way to grow ministry and spread the love of Christ was through relationships. Brad loved Carolina basketball, much to the dismay of his immediate Jones family. He enjoyed ECU football games and watching great movies. Typically, a cold can of Coke and a good sporting event to watch would make his day. Brad loved Jesus, his family, and his church with his entire heart. Brad was preceded in death by his father, Jerry L. Jones; paternal grandfather, Louis M. Jones; maternal grandparents, Woodrow and Eula Mae Williams. Surviving are his: wife of 21 years, Sarah Baker Jones; daughter, Rebecca Noelle "Elle" Jones of the home; mother, Marilyn Williams Jones of Wilson, NC; paternal grandmother, Ruth B. Jones of Greenville, NC; sister, Christie Jones Heubel and husband, Rob of Greenville, NC; brother, David Jones and wife, Sarah of Wilson, NC; and a number of loving nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends in the church Fellowship Hall following the service.
