Paul Burbage Obituary

Paul Douglas Burbage Winterville - 2 Timothy 4-7 - "I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith". Paul Douglas Burbage Selby, known lovingly as Doug, passed away peacefully with the sunrise on Sunday, June 8, 2025, at the age of 65. The family will have a private service at a later date. Doug was born on February 16, 1960, in Beaufort County, North Carolina. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Patricia "Patty" Burbage Selby, and by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Selby. Doug is survived by his three siblings: brother, Reggie Selby and wife Beverly of Colorado Springs, CO; children Blaise, Miles, and Taylor; sister Lisa Selby Keel and husband Don of Greenville, NC; children Paige, Will, and Luke; brother Scotty Selby and wife Kristin of Wilmington, NC; sons Sadler and Batten. Doug led a full and industrious life. After attending Pitt Community College, he worked as a Biomedical Equipment Technician at Pitt County Memorial Hospital before launching his own home improvement business. In retirement, Doug took great joy in gardening and took pride in keeping his yard immaculate. He lived life with passion-working hard, playing hard, and embracing every moment. Despite life's challenges, Doug remained grounded in his Christian faith, often finding peace through Jesus. Doug will be remembered for his generous heart, deep love for family and friends, and a special affection for dogs. He touched many lives with his kindness, strength, and one-of-a-kind spirit. The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the staff of The Service League of Greenville Hospice House for their compassionate care. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Doug's memory to: The Service League of Greenville Hospice House. Arrangements by Wilkerson Funeral Home and Crematory.
