Daniel Dowell Obituary
He was born Wednesday, Oct. 22, 1952, in Monmouth, Illinois, the son of Zenas and Norma (Norville) Dowell. He married Linda West on June 5, 1976.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife Linda of nearly 40 years; two sons, Timothy (Heidi) Dowell of East Peoria, Illinois, and David Dowell of London Mills, Illinois; one daughter, Lisa Dowell of London Mills, Illinois; six grandchildren, Haley, Paris, Trey, Payton, Dawson, and Chase; one sister, Becky Dowell of London Mills, Illinois; one brother Rusty Dowell and nephew Ryan and niece Jessica of London Mills, Illinois. He was preceded in death by his parents, father-in-law and a brother-in-law.
He graduated from Spoon River Valley High School in 1970. He attended the University of Illinois for Civil Engineering. He worked for IDOT, the pottery, John Deere Harvester, and later was a general contractor of his own business, Dowell Home Improvement, for 30 years. He loved spending time with his grandkids and flipping houses. He also enjoyed traveling and fishing.
Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 6, 2016, at the London Mills United Methodist Church, London Mills, Illinois. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, April 5, 2016, at the London Mills United Methodist Church. Burial will be in the East Midway Cemetery London Mills, Illinois. Memorials may be left to the London Mills United Methodist Church and or the London Mills Fire and Ambulance service. Please sign the online guestbook at www.wisefamily-hooverhall.com.

Becky, I am so sad to hear of your brothers death. I think of you often and all the good times we had together. John and I live just past the Spoon River on RT 150 heading towards Peoria. I retired after 42 years at SMMC last year and am enjoying it. I do have Muscular DYSTROPHY that was DX in 2005 and am mostly in a wheelchair bossing John around, You will be in my prayers, God Bless You. My e-mail is [email protected]. Love you,Lin
