Lois Hallberg Obituary

GALESBURG - Mrs. Lois E. Hallberg, 80, Galesburg, died at 5:45 p.m. Monday, June 3, 2013, in Marigold Health Care Center.
She was born Jan. 20, 1933, in Galesburg, the daughter of Dan M. and Opal Mae Hiles Sedwick. She married Howard L. Hallberg on May 29, 1960, in Galesburg. He preceded her in death on Aug. 2, 2002.
She is survived by two sons, Eric H. (and Jackie) Hallberg of Kewanee and Alan L. (and Linda) Hallberg of Galesburg; two daughters, Sara E. Hallberg of Winona, Minn., and Jane E. Hallberg of Galesburg; six grandchildren, Bill Hallberg, Brandon Hallberg, Ben Hallberg, Emma Hallberg, Lyle Hallberg, and Sylvia Hallberg; and two great-grandchildren, Colton and Johnathan. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and a brother.
Lois was a homemaker until her children were all in school. She then worked for Churchill Junior High School in the lunchroom and then for the Knox County Treasurer's office. She retired in 1990. She graduated from Galesburg High School in 1950. Lois was a member of First Lutheran Church.
Funeral services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Friday, June 7, 2013, at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel.Rev. Pamela Marolla will officiate. There will be no visitation. Burial will be in Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to First Lutheran Church. Online condolences may be made at www.h-p-w.com.
