I had Mr. Peoples as my shop teacher and he was also a friend of my father. Like Phil Lopez, I'm sure that there are many pump lamps still working for his former students. One of the best teachers that I ever had and a class that I looked forward to everyday.

Mr Peoples was my shop teacher in Junior High at Churchill in the late 60s. The only teacher I had, through school years in Galesburg, who was African American! I have fond memories of the time I spent in his classes and still have the pump lamp we made in 8th grade at Churchill! May he RIP!!!

I had Mr. Peoples for a teacher when I went to Lombard. He taught me that even girls can do woodworking. He was a patient and understanding teachers and one of the best. I remember the lessons he taught us all the time. He was a no excuse, you can do anything you put your mind to kind of teacher. My deepest sympathies to the family and those who knew him in day to day life.
