MICHAEL PATRONE Obituary

PATRONE, MICHAEL J. Michael J. Patrone, 93, passed away on Sunday, January 4, 2015, at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital in Torrington following a lengthy illness. He was the husband of Irene (Tracy) Patrone. Born in Winsted, September 18, 1921, he was a son of the late Donato and Josephine (Mariniccio) Patrone and had lived here all of his life. He had attended local schools, joined the Army during WW II having served with the 83 Infantry Division in France and Germany and retired from O&G Industries where he worked for over 25 years. He was a member of the American Legion, Local #478 and was an avid Red Sox fan. Mike was a loving husband, a wonderful father and believed his family was everything. In addition to his loving wife of 58 years, he is survived by 2 daughters, Michelle Patrone, her partner Steve Weir of Torrington, their daughter Heather Monaco, Brenda Turick and her husband David of Barkhamsted, their children, James (Amy) Robinson, Jennifer (Ted) McDonald and Jonathan Tharau; eight great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Joseph Patrone and three sisters, Mary Patrone, Christine Mahoney and Rose Rocco. Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 9, at 11:00 AM at the Maloney Funeral Home 55 Walnut Street. Burial will be in Forest View Cemetery with full military honors in the spring. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 10:30 until the time of the service. Special thanks to the 4th floor nurses and Companions & Homemakers for the special help afforded Michael during his illness.
