Jesse Bastien Obituary

Jesse Paul Bastien died unexpectedly at the young age of 37 on the morning of May 19th, 2015. He was in a head on collision with a deer while driving his work truck in the Eugene area.

He was born October 26, 1977 in Atlanta, GA and grew up just outside of Atlanta. Jesse is survived by family in Georgia, they are his mother Sally, his older sister Amy, older brother Rob, niece Christina & nephew Emilio. Jesse loved and talked of his family in Georgia often.

In 2003 Jesse drove cross country and settled in Bend, OR where he soon met the love of his life. Jesse and Beth were married on August 27, 2005 in Redmond, OR. Jesse and Beth relocated to Eugene shortly after for Jesse's career with Oroweat as a Route Salesman.

Jesse not only left behind his loving wife, but his 2 young adoring sons. Augustus age 7 and Maximus age 3. Jesse loved his sons so much and enjoyed taking them to the park, bike rides, & on rainy days to Putters play place. The boys and Jesse also bonded over video games. His sons miss him everyday. They have lost something precious that can never be replaced by their father's passing.

Jesse worked so hard for his family. He truly loved his son's and wife more than anything else in this world. He is missed so much everyday by not only his wife and sons but his family, friends, and coworkers as well. Jesse's family loves him and think about him all the time. They will make sure to keep his memory alive.

A private service will be held in Jesse's honor in the following weeks. The family would like to thank everyone for their support during this incredibly difficult time.

My sincere condolences to the family. Losing someone in death so unexpectedly is especially difficult. Please find comfort in the words found at 2 Kings 20:5, "I have heard your prayer. I have seen your tears. I am healing you."

I worked with Jesse for over 10 years and found out in the first year, that we were birthday twins. He was like a little brother to me--one minute forgetting his paperwork and making me a bit frustrated and the next minute saying something sweet and heartwarming. I will miss his wicked sense of humor and his awesome smile. My prayers to Beth and the boys, and know if you need anything, just call..we are there for you.
