Kenneth Mort Obituary

IN HONOR OF A MAN THAT WAS VERY TALENTED

I owned Les' Service Center in Springfield for more than 50 plus years. We did many things involving trailer or vehicle towing, pickup canopies manufacturing from auto repair, to design, manufacture and sales of tow trailers, tow dollies, and cargo carriers.

I would like to pay tribute to Ken Mort, who died tragically on May 12th, 2010. Ken was one of my employees at Les' Service Center for many years.

Ken established Hitch Pro and Tow on West 11th Ave. where he has been in business for 10 years. When Ken died, this community lost a very talented and wonderful person. Ken was the best employee I ever had. He could do anything, and everything he did, he did well. I'll say it again, as a person and employee, Ken was the BEST person I ever employed. He was the son I never had, and I hope some day we will meet again.

Thanks for the years of dedicated work you provided me and our customers.

Thanks for the memories. I and my family love you and will miss you so much.

Ken Mort was such a nice person.
We met him when we took our motor homes to him, to have brake systems installed. He did excellent work and was so pleasant to us.

All our Christian love to the family of Ken Mort. I used to sell him tires when I worked for Firestone. I always respected him for his honesty and that smile that identified him. We will see him again when he comes back in the resurrection when the earth is a paradise. Love, Harald Hillervik, Riobamba, Ecuador

To The Family Of Ken Mort;

It was my privilege to have Ken install my 5th hitch in 2001. I felt a friendly connection with him and he did a very good job. I hope that the Hitch Pro & Go business continues to operate with the same friendly and honest integrity in honor of Ken. I will miss seeing his friendly smile.

My dearest friends,
How will we go on, but we will! My friend, brother, nephew is not here to help us with all the things we need help with. However...
we know that when "He calls, Ken will answer". I know that with all my heart.
I love and miss Ken but I know that I will see him soon...Ken and Larry with their awesome grins. Until then...we will just keep doing the best we can.

I will miss hearing Ken greet me with “Hey Brat” as I walk into the Kingdom Hall and turn to see him grinning from ear to ear as he stood behind the literature counter. I have a hundred wonderful memories of Ken. I will treasure the memory of helping him re-roof the home he rented.

I will forever picture Ken at my house in the winter sitting on the hearth in front of the woodstove enjoying the warmth of the stove. I will continue to have Cindi over for Thai, but it won’t be the same without Ken. He loved coming over to be a guinea pig for the new recipe I had just learned. The four of us would all sit around the table and talk for hours or play cards or dominos. We enjoyed some simple campfires and some wonderful fish feasts sometimes with Ken’s whole family!

Not only was Ken my spiritual brother, I felt he was my fleshly brother as well and his family… my family! Ken helped my husband & I many times. I look forward to seeing him again to welcome him back to this earth where we will all help to transform it back to the paradise Jehovah God originally purposed. Until that time, he will be sorely missed and there is a gaping hole in our hearts.

I had the privledge of working with Ken before he opened his own business. Ken was a kind, honest and sincere gentleman. What a tremendous loss it is for his family, friends and community.
