BROOKVILLE — RichardDwain "Dick" Rhoads, 91, of Brookville, went to be with the Lord on Nov. 22, 2023.
He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Barbara (Swab) Rhoads; sister Betty Wyan; daughters Terri (Allen) Easterday, Nancy Watt and Lynda Stephens; six grandchildren and multiple great-grandchildren.
After graduating from Dixie High School in New Lebanon in 1950, Dick began his career apprenticeship in the tool and die trade at NCR in Dayton. After 18 years with NCR, he worked eight years at Universal Tool, and then retired from GM in 1998 after 22 years. He served his country for eight years in the U.S. Naval Reserve. He was currently a member of the First Baptist Church of Union. His lifetime hobby was building and flying model airplanes. He was a member of the Spirit of America Show Team for several years and currently a member of his local flying club (F.A.S.T.). He was interested in all aspects of aviation. At one time, he had been a private pilot and part-owner of a Cessna 150. He also enjoyed riding motorcycles, pedaling around town on his recumbent bike, maintaining his home, and relaxing on the back swing.
Visitation and services will all be held at Gilbert-Fellers Funeral Home, 950 Albert Rd., Brookville. Visitation will be held 5-8 p.m., Friday, Dec. 1, and services, conducted by Pastor Dan Kincer, will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 2.

Jim and I were so very sad to learn of Dicks passing. We feel blessed that we were able to meet and spend some time with him. We are so sorry that we cannot be present to share in your grief. You and your family are in our thoughts and prayers.
