Pamela Parsons Wray, 78, a lifelong resident of Bantam, CT, and a cherished friend to many, passed away peacefully on August 8, 2025. Known for her kindness, community spirit, and radiant smile, Pam touched countless lives with her generosity and warmth.
Born on February 1, 1947, in Torrington, CT, to A. Walter and Estelle Parsons, Pam grew up in Bantam and attended Litchfield Public Schools. Pam built a long and dedicated career in banking, beginning at the First National Bank of Litchfield and retiring after 50 years as Assistant Vice President in the Trust Department at Union Savings Bank. She also spent three decades working in the local grocery industry, beginning at the First National food store, which transitioned through several names before becoming Stop & Shop.
Pam cherished her time at Bantam Lake and in Chatham, Cape Cod. She devoted countless hours to the Bantam Civic Association, Bantam Cemetery Association, Sandy Beach Commission, and Litchfield Cemeteries, always giving freely of her time and talents.
She is survived by her beloved life partner, Gary Bowen; her brothers Richard, Scott, Paul and wife Valerie, and Daniel and wife Jennifer; and many adoring nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Pam, along with her brothers, was a proud member of the Schaghticoke Tribal Nation. She was predeceased by her parents and her brother Walter.
A funeral service will be held on August 16, 2025, at 1 p.m. at St. Paul's Church in Bantam, with burial to follow at Bantam Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Pam's memory to the Bantam Cemetery Association, PO Box 1652, Litchfield, CT 06759.
