Gary Lee Ordway

Gary Lee Ordway, 69, died on June 13th, 2021. He was born in Abilene , TX on August 2, 1951. He was a son to the late Frankie Thompson and Marvin Ordway.

Gary played many sports in High School, but his favorite was always baseball. He later joined the Marines and played baseball with a semi-pro team as a catcher while stationed in San Diego, California. Gary was proud to be a Marine and served as a Staff Sergeant. Gary was a talented artist and loved to listen to music.

He is survived by his sisters, Cindy Ordway and Zena Workman and husband Roy, his brothers Joel Ordway and wife Susie, Randy Ordway, Mike Ordway and wife Paula, and many nephews, nieces and cousins.

A graveside service will be held, under the direction of Girdner Funeral Home, Abilene, at the Texas State Veterans Cemetery at 7457 W Lake Rd, Abilene 79601on Monday, June 21st at 10am to honor Gary's life. In lieu of flowers please send memorials to the Wounded Warrior Project, 4899 Belfrot Road Suite 300, Jacksonville, FL 32256
