James Johnson Obituary
Abilene - Devoted husband, father & Pops, James Kiet Johnson passed away on February 26, 2021 in Abilene, Texas. He was 52 years old and his loving wife, Brandi was by his side when he left this earth that he had blessed & filled with laughter daily.
Visitation will be from 6 pm until 8 pm on Tuesday, March 2, at The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road. Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, March 3 at the funeral home.
James was born in Saigon, Vietnam during the heaviest part of the Vietnam War, so he was a fighter from day one. His parents are Elton Johnson and the late Wendy Huu Johnson. On May 6, 2000 he married his soul mate, Brandi Johnson and promised her forever; however, forever wasn't as long as they both wanted. James was a true entrepreneur and was the CEO & Founder of Nova Franchise Services, the company he & his wife, Brandi, spent the last 7 years building into a successful business for their family. James was an Army Veteran where he received many accommodations & served our country on the front lines in Desert Storm.
To say James was a family man would be an understatement. He spent every moment of his life living & breathing for his wife, children & grandchildren. The happiest you would see James is when his home was filled with his family - laughing, playing & loving one another. He has touched so many lives across this country through his leadership, mentoring and most of all friendship. He was a Godly man who said grace before every meal. He instilled strong values, dedication & leadership in his children and all those who knew him.
James was preceded in death by his loving mother, Wendy Huu Johnson along with 2 brothers & his best friend/brother, Michael Brown.
He is survived by his wife, Brandi Johnson of 21 years, who dedicates her life's successes to James. He is also survived by his children: Mahala & husband Erik Edstrom of Midland, Texas; Amanda Blair of Abilene, Texas; Kanon James Johnson of Midland, Texas; Triniti Johnson & Toriana Johnson, both of Abilene, Texas. His grandchildren: Landon & Jalen Williams, Kelissa Blair, Kolt James Johnson & Mason Edstrom. His father: Elton Johnson of Abilene, Texas. Along with his siblings: Kim Chi & husband Craig Carney, Kim Chau Lopez, John Johnson & Mary Medford.
A special thank you to all that knew & loved James. He will be forever missed but never forgotten.
