Mary Francis Vaughn, 89, went to be with the Lord on Friday, April 19th at her daughter's home in Stephenville after a courageous battle with Alzheimer's. Her graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, April 22nd in Elmwood Memorial Park, 5750 HWY 277 South.

Mrs. Vaughn was born on March 2, 1924 in Breckenridge to Pleasant Edward and Linnie Mae Hendrick. She married Jack L. Vaughn on December 17, 1949 in San Angelo and they lived in Abilene all of their married life. Mary worked for Southwestern Bell/AT&T until her retirement in 1978. She moved to Stephenville in 1995 where she was a member of First Baptist Church.

Mrs. Vaughn enjoyed doing puzzles, playing card games and most of all will be remembered for having and attending garage sales. In her final months, she enjoyed watching Reba shows, cracking pecans and watching her great grandson Jackson ride his bike and play with his little dog.

Survivors include one daughter, Jackie L. Wakefield of Stephenville; one son, Michael A. Vaughn and wife Beverly of McKinney; three grandchildren, Elizabeth Wakefield of Stephenville, Andrew Vaughn of Orlando, Florida and Brady Vaughn of San Antonio; one great grandchild, Jackson Wakefield of Stephenville; nieces, Karen Bowker and Gail Doby of Abilene; and nephews, Danny Vaughn and wife Sherry of Magnolia.
