Milton Ricks Obituary

Milton J. Ricks 80, died suddenly June 26, 2007 in Rexburg from natural causes.
Mr. Ricks was born Feb. 4, 1927, at Moody Creek, Idaho the son of Earl Edwin Ricks and Theora Valentine Ricks. He grew up and attended schools in Teton City and St. Anthony graduating from South Fremont High School.
He served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to the North California Mission.
He married LaReena Nelson on July 6, 1950 in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple.
Milton and LaReena were blessed with eight children. LaReena passed away in 1993. Milton then met and married Martha Jane Stuart on April 15, 1995 in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. They have lived in the St. Anthony area for the past several years.
Mr. Ricks worked at many different jobs in his life.
He worked recapping tires, delivered eggs for many years for Norman Haraldson, worked for the Madison School District, was a volunteer fire fighter in Madison county and then retired from the Madison County Court House as a custodian.
He enjoyed being a farmer, raising his famous turkeys and doing other outdoor activities.
Milton was a active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and has served in many different church callings.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, his first wife, LaReena, and one son, Randy. He is survived by his wife Martha, St. Anthony. Children; Jay (Paula) Ricks, Duane (Sandra) Ricks, both of Rexburg Val (Loretta) Ricks, Newdale; Naomi (Daniel) Bird, Blue Bell, Utah. Clyde Boy Ricks, St. Anthony; Theo Annika Ricks, Pamela W. Ricks, both of Rexburg; two step children – Jeannie Bissey, Pocatello; and Thomas King, St. Anthony; 29 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted Monday July 2, 2007, at 11 a.m. in the St. Anthony LDS Stake Center with Bishop Wade Trost, officiating.
Friends may call at the Bidwell Funeral Home Sunday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. and on the church Monday one hour prior to the services.
Burial will be in the Teton-Newdale Cemetery.
