Adam Huckaby Obituary
Adam Nielson Huckaby, age 30, known affectionately as "Huck" to his many friends and "Adz" to his family, moved on to his next adventure on early Sunday morning, May 5, 2013. Adam was born on December 13, 1982. Adam loved life, snowboarding, music, skateboarding and his friends and his family. A lifelong Sparks resident, Adam graduated from Reed High School in 2001 and Collins College of Graphic Arts in 2003.
Adam is survived by his parents, Danny R. Huckaby and Gretchen and Clifford Beck, his sister, Dana Marie Sims (Ryan), Grandmothers Dee Barlow of Sparks and Beatrice Beck of Plymouth, CA, and numerous Aunts, Uncles and Cousins. He is also survived by his soul-mate, Kristi Howell and her wonderful daughter, Brylee, their two precious dogs, Diggz and Sawyer and playful cat, Layla.
Adam was a very special man and will be forever loved and missed.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, May 18th at 11:00am at the Best Western Plus Airport Plaza Hotel. Please bring your special memories of Adam to share.
Adam was such a lover of all animals that in lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a donation, in Adam's name, to the Nevada Humane Society or the SPCA of Northern Nevada. If you wish to leave a memory you can go to rgj.com to sign Adam's guest book.

This Sunday December 8 at 7 pm is a worldwide candle lighting by Compassionate Friends organization helping parents and siblings of children gone too soon . You can look them online at compassionate friends.com. Please light your candle for Adam at 7 pm in unity with so many .The Compassionate Friends Worldwide Candle Lighting unites family and friends around the globe in lighting candles for one hour to honor the memories of the sons, daughters, brothers, sisters, and grandchildren who left too soon. As candles are lit at 7:00 p.m. local time, hundreds of thousands of persons commemorate and honor the memory of all children gone too soon.
Now believed to be the largest mass candle lighting on the globe, the 17th annual Worldwide Candle Lighting, a gift to the bereavement community from The Compassionate Friends, creates a virtual 24-hour wave of light as it moves from time zone to time zone. TCF's WWCL started in the United States in 1997 as a small internet observance, but has since swelled in numbers as word has spread throughout the world of the remembrance. Hundreds of formal candle lighting events are held and thousands of informal candle lightings are conducted in homes as families gather in quiet remembrance of children who have died, but will never be forgotten.

My heart goes out to Adam's entire family and all of his friends. I was the new girl in town and Adam was one of the firsts to make me feel comfortable and safe. He would pick me up in the morning for school, take me to lunch, and home almost my entire freshman year. Adam touched my heart in many ways, he started as a crush and then we developed an amazing friendship. I will never forget any of our memories and I am crushed that we didn't spend enough time together over the last couple of years. You are now at peace my friend. I love you, I miss you, I'm sad, I'm hurt, but I know you would tell me just to smile.

My love goes out to Adams family... He was such a fun and amazing person to be around. He was the type of guy that could make you feel like you were the only woman on earth. His smile could brighten up the whole room and his laugh could be heard miles away! Adam showed me so many different types of music and countless movies I had never even heard about. I will forever remember all our special times together and I know he is up above with BDay and everyone else I have lost this year looking over us, and hopefully guiding the rest of us. Adam you left us way to early but I guess God needed you with him more. I love you and will always and forever love and care for you!!! Our family has many fond and precious memories of Adam from Kindergarten on. Although our paths didn't cross over the past few years very frequently, whenever we saw Adam it was as if no time was lost. RIP Huck I will forever remember our hacky sack sessions. Always a good time when he was involved. although I had not seen him since high school our group of friends were as thick as thieves.
