Daniel Woolley Obituary
Reno - Dan passed away in Reno on September 5, 2018. He was 68 years old. Dan was raised in Manhattan Beach, California and came to Reno in January of 1970 to play football at the University of Nevada.
Following graduation, he began a 31 year career with the Washoe County Department of Juvenile Services. He loved his career as a Probation Officer and hoped that he positively impacted the lives of the youth he saw. Dan was an avid sports fan, and when he no longer participated as an athlete, he liked betting the games at the local Sportsbooks. His love of sports carried over to his son, Josh, who he coached in Little League, Babe Ruth, and in the Y Basketball program.
Dan was preceded in death by his parents, Ronald and Beth Woolley, and his sister, Becky Murphy.
He is survived by his sister, Sharon Woolman (Dean) of Hermosa Beach, his wife, Mary Ann, and his children, Stacey (Tad) Loran, Melissa Eras, and Josh (Colleen) Woolley. He also leaves behind his precious grandchildren, Emily, Joey, Mia, Brooke, Tyler, and Nora. He is also survived by a large extended family.
A funeral Mass with be held on Wednesday, September 12th, at 10:00AM at Saint Therese Church of the Little Flower, 875 E. PlumbLane, Reno. A reception will follow. For those wishing to make a donation in Dan's memory, the family requests that you consider the St. Vincent de Paul Society for the Poor, c/o St. Therese Church of the Little Flower.
