Douglas Kerr Obituary

Douglas Paul Kerr

April 28, 1957

December 12, 2015

Douglas Paul Kerr most beloved Son, Brother, Brother-in-law, Uncle, Nephew, Cousin, and friend of many was welcomed into God's loving care on December 12, 2015. Doug was born on April 28, 1957, in Reno, Nevada to James and Adelaide (Kathy) Kerr. Doug graduated from Hug High School, worked as a Journeyman Sheet Metal worker, and was a member of the Sheet Metal Workers Local 26. Doug loved Nevada, the mountains, four wheeling, shooting, and the Air Races. He also was the consummate do-it-yourselfer - nothing he couldn't fix, build, or refurbish. If he didn't have the right part, he would engineer one in true MacGyver style.

Doug is preceded in death by father, James F. Kerr, maternal and paternal grandparents, sister Carol Lee Fedde, Aunt Nona Hester, Uncle Bill Carlton, Step father Robert Webb, and his ever faithful furry friend Heidi. He is survived by mother Kathy Webb, brother Steve Kerr, sister Diane Kerr, brother-in-law Norman Fedde, niece Vicki (Ed) Andreen, step-brother John Webb and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

A Celebration of Life and potluck for Doug will be held on Wednesday, December 30, 2015, at 1:00 p.m. at the Sparks Nazarene Church; 2200 El Rancho Drive; Sparks, NV 89431. In lieu of flowers consider donating to a local animal shelter or the American Lung Association in memory of Douglas P. Kerr.

Go rest high on that mountain Doug and breathe easy. Until we meet again, we love you.

I am so fortunate to have known Doug. He was always there to help when there was something to be done, or a kind word to be said. You are deeply missed, but will never leave my heart. God bless you and your family.

So sorry to hear about Cousin Doug's passing. I know that he suffered many years from COPD. At family gatherings he always had a smile on his face and a quiet grace about him. As said so eloquently in the obituary, now he can rest and breathe easy.

Through time, Doug became a part of our family! He was our neighbor for several years. He gave without ever asking for much. He was a good man!! My heart breaks for his family, as our familys hearts are broken too. I keep catching myself crying. It's hard to drive by his home... I have to look away.
Missing our Dougy!! My prayers go out to his family.
He's up in heaven now... I hope he's looking down and seeing how much we all love and miss him!!!

I could always count on Doug when I needed something done, it might not be right away, but eventually he would help out. My family and I first met Doug when we lived in Reno. He became a lifelong friend to my sons and daughters. See you later Doug! We will miss you. Grace Lovelien
