Emily Leach Obituary

Emily Hope Leach

Emily Hope Leach, age 32, died at home on March 1, 2013, after a lengthy illness.

Born February 16, 1981 in Redwood City, CA she traveled the country with her parents, having lived in Chicago, IL.; Albany, NY; Grand Prairie, TX; Jackson, MS, Houston, TX; and Reno, NV, although she always called California home.

Emily was proud to say she worked for the Department of Veterans Affairs, VA Palo Alto Health Care System. She loved the veterans she served and they loved her for her kindness and compassion.

She will be especially remembered for winning the California Lottery in January 2012. With the favor God had shown her, she was able to help many people, some of whom she did not even know. Her generosity to those in need will never be forgotten. Surely she is in heaven for her many deeds of kindness to others.

Survivors include her mother, Patricia M. Stevenson of Reno, NV, brothers, Daniel P. Leach of Houston, TX and Philip J. Leach of Austin, TX and Grandma, Nadja Iachetti of Mountain View, CA. Most of all, her little dogs, Pandora and Chloe miss her greatly.

Emily was preceded in death by her Step-dad, Larry D. Stevenson and her best friend and Grandpa, Paul S. Iachetti.

A Memorial Service is being planned by the family.

Thanks to all of her medical providers, particularly those at Kaiser Permanente, CA, St. Mary's Regional Medical Center, Renown Regional Medical Center, Reno, NV, REMSA and Firehouse #8, for their help and support. Special thanks to Tom at Walton's Sierra Chapel for all he has done for our family during this difficult time.

I went to school with Emily at Northwest Rankin in Brandon, MS. I was the "new girl" and Emily was one of the first people I became friends with. Its so unfortunate that as the years passed she and I lost contact. Emily will always be remembered for how beautiful of a person she was inside and out. RIP beautiful.

I work at the Palo Alto VA and always liked Emily because she really tried to do her best. She was good.

I am so very sorry for your loss. I did not know Emily, although I was a school-mate with her uncle, Peter. She sounds like she had a wonderful and generous heart and heaven is now blessed with a beautiful angel. May God Bless each of you during this difficult time...

I did not know your daughter but she sounds like a beautiful soul and yes, she is in heaven surrounded by love and blissful peace. May God carry you through this difficult time.
