Marilyn Ann Yakich

Marilyn Ann Yakich passed away on Saturday, September 3, 2011, at her home. She was born in Reno, Nevada, in May of 1950, to Maurice and Audrey Sheppard. She attended local schools and the University of Nevada.

Marilyn worked in the casino industry for many years rising to the position of Games Shift Manager at the El Dorado until the illness which claimed her life forced her to end her employment in 2010.

Marilyn is survived by her husband of over 18 years, David Yakich; her sisters, Michele Sheppard, Maureen Griswold (Chan), and Mary Chauvin (Bob), and nephews Fielding and Zachary Cathcart.

Marilyn loved her family, home and pets. No funeral will be held. A gathering of family and friends will be planned.

My deepest sympathy to David and Marilyn's family. Marilyn had a battle she could not win yet she was granted rest through sleep, how I hope I go that way. I worked for and with Marilyn on swingshift for quite a few years. I had great respect for her position and enjoyed some times where she could just be Marilyn and not be the Shift Manager. We would talk about our pets and the blueprints she put together for the home they built. With all my heart,I hope that there is peace for Marilyn, David, Gypsy and family. Respectfully, Dawn Wait
