GLEN MICKELSEN Obituary

GLEN MICKELSEN 04/09/1944 - 04/03/2025 Glen Que Mickelsen, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and community leader, was called home at the age of 80. Born on April 9, 1944, in Salina, Utah and passed away April 3, 2025 surrounded by his family and friends. Glen graduated from North Sevier High School in 1962. He then attended Weber State College. While attending college, he met and married Shirley Ann Jenkins solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple (later divorced). He later met Linda Malmgren and they married in 1994. Glen spent his career as a prominent drywall contractor, completing many projects throughout Sevier and surrounding counties. He was a Redmond boy through and through. He loved farming and even after he could no longer physically do the work, he farmed from his recliner. He often employed local kids so they could learn the value of work and earn money. Glen's commitment to his community was evident during his eight years of service as the mayor of Redmond, where he worked to support and enhance the small town he loved so dearly. While serving as mayor he spearheaded a project to install the city's public sewer system. Glen was a member of the Church or Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served as ward clerk for several years, high priest group leader and other various callings. He was a man of faith. Glen was a hard-working man of honesty and integrity who deeply valued family and friends. He was willing to share anything he had with others. Glen is survived by his devoted wife, Linda Mae Mickelsen; his sons, Ted (Alecia) Mickelsen and Mark (Jesica) Mickelsen, and his daughter Kim (Troy) Shaw. He is also survived by Linda's children (bonus kids) Tami (Mitch) Hansen, TeriLee (John) Hammond, Brad (Carly) Malmgren; his sister, Ellen (Ronald) Bosshardt; his brother, Myron (Joy) Mickelsen and his brother-in-law, Larry Streabeck. Glen was preceded in death by his parents, Que and Mathel Mickelsen; and his sister, Norma Streadbeck. Glen leaves behind his cherished grandchildren: Ayden Mickelsen, Ryan Shaw, Megan Larsen, Jordan Shaw, Kobe Shaw, Chase Mickelsen, Gracie Mickelsen, Jessica Elmadhoun, Jacob Hansen, Samuel Hansen, Cassandra Hansen, Robert Hammond, Ethan Hammond, Mason Malmgren, Adalie Gearhart, and Zoe Malmgren. Additionally, Glen was blessed with four great-grandchildren. Glen's legacy will live on through the many lives he touched with dedication, and unwavering love for his family and community. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 10, 2025, at 11:00 am at the Redmond Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. A viewing will be from 9:30 - 10:30 am. Interment will be at the Redmond City Cemetery. Funeral Directors: Magleby Mortuary, Richfield, Salina and Manti. Online guestbook www.maglebymortuary.com
