PAUL SORENSEN Obituary

PAUL SORENSEN 1960 - 2025 Salina, Utah Paul Lyle Sorensen, age 64, passed away February 15, 2025, at his home in Salina, Utah. He was born February 24, 1960, in Gunnison, Utah, a son of Christian Glaine and Minnie Rose Kendall Sorensen. Paul grew up in Centerfield, Utah. He graduated from Gunnison Valley High School, Class of 1978. In high school Paul wrestled and played tennis. Paul married Marlene Ann Buck in Gunnison, August of 1977 in Gunnison, Utah. They later divorced. He married Daisy Nicole Dietrie February of 1992 in Richfield. They later divorced. He met Gretchen Thomas in 2016, they spent many happy years together until she passed away in August of 2024. Though never married, he loved her very much. Throughout his life, Paul learned many skills. He was an apprentice plumber, a great mechanic who could fix just about anything, he also had his CDL and drove truck for many years. He enjoyed being outdoors, and especially loved to hunt and fish. His family joked that the bow and rifle deer hunts were his Christmas. Paul loved spending time with his family. He was a wonderful dad and grandfather, his family was his greatest accomplishment. To know Paul was to know a man that loved unconditionally. He was a man who loved every person in their own light, he'd give the shirt off his back and drop everything to help someone in need. To know Paul was to know a man that worked hard to make sure his family was fed, sheltered, and safe. To know Paul was to know a man that wouldn't stray from a fight-he wasn't a bully but he was a man that took disrespect from nobody. To know Paul was to know a man that struggled his entire life but made it work. No matter how many times he got kicked down, he'd get up and keep fighting with a smile on his face, never complaining. His motto was "That's life, it ain't easy." To know Paul was to know a one of a kind man and he will be very missed. Paul is survived by his five children: KeriAnn (Jesse) Barker, Sherri Lynn Martin, Paul James (Kelsey) Sorensen, Joseph Lyle Sorensen, all of Salina, Stephanie Marie Sorensen, of Redmond; grandchildren: John, Kieran, Liberty, London, Logan, Raven, Parker, Zackary, Hayes, Kalista, Kyle, Macie, Jeremiah, MinnieRose; great-grandchildren: Raine, Zurelia, Denver; his brothers: David Sorensen of Mayfield, Michael Sorensen of Tooele, and Stephan Sorensen of Salina.
