David Marshall Obituary
May 1, 1949 - January 3, 2021
David Lane Marshall Jr., 71, of New Castle, Va., went to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, January 3, 2021, surrounded by his wife and children.
David was born in Norristown, Pennsylvania on May 1, 1949. He spent most of his childhood and teen years in West Africa. He returned to the United States and went on to graduate from Atlantic City High School. He was well known for his skills as an automobile mechanic (Dave's Shop) and carpenter (Marshall Construction), building many homes in the Blacksburg area. He loved fishing and hunting with his family and friends. Most of all, he will be remembered as loving husband, father, grandfather, and dear friend.
David is preceded in death by his father, David Lane Marshall Sr., as well as his daughter, Stephanie Lynn Marshall.
Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 50 years, Marilou Rogers Marshall; son, David L. Marshall III (Manacca); daughter, Jeanine Scott (Ian); mother, Elaine Marshall; sisters, Sandra Schrader (Jake), Diane Cable (Ted); grandchildren, Jessica Harman (Dakota), Tyler and Stephanie Scott, Bethany Griffith, Caleb and Cali.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 1, 2021, at 3 p.m. at the family's residence in New Castle.

I'm Bethany Griffith I would like to share a memory of my Grandfather (To me and all the other grandchildren we called him Poppop). One of my favorite times with PopPop is going down to Florida to visit them and one thing we would do every so often is go on boat rides and one time I remember sitting on his lap and driving the boat I actually have a picture of it. yall I miss him so much just writing this is making tear up I love him so much. I don't know why but like ever since his died I feel it everything has gone down hill. I hate that this happened all I want is my PopPop back! please
