Janice Gail Malcolm Higgins

November 13, 1948 - May 23, 2024

Janice Gail Malcolm Higgins, 75 of Wake Forest, NC, previously of Roanoke, VA, passed away peacefully May 23, 2024, after a long battle with Parkinson's disease.

Jan was born November 13, 1948, at Washington Adventist Hospital in Takoma Park, MD, the daughter of the late Russell Randolph Malcolm and Virginia (Cross) Malcolm.

She married her soulmate, John William Higgins III, on June 28, 1968, in Staunton, VA.

Along with her husband, Mrs. Higgins is survived by her two daughters, Jenea Honse (Jon) of Youngsville, NC, and Jamie Rowles (Derek) of Wake Forest, NC; her grandchildren, Helen, Jack, Peter, Charlie Honse, Henry, and Eli Bosley; her brother, Robert R. Malcolm of Seattle, WA; and sister, Debra M. Malcolm (Kris) of Seattle, WA.

She was preceded in death by her parents and by her brother James R. Malcolm.

Jan's courage, kindness, humor, grace, and big heart will be sorely missed by all that knew her.
