John Hoover Obituary

John Earl Hoover, 75, of Pawleys Island, S.C., and formerly of Christiansburg, Va., passed away on Monday, September 26, 2011. He was born on September 23, 1936, to the late Robert and Margaret Bowles Hoover. John retired from Hercules Inc., in Radford, Va., as a mechanical engineer and from the United States Army as a Colonel. He loved traveling and was an avid tennis player. He was a beloved husband, father, and grandfather. He is survived by his wife, Dawn Tucker Hoover; son, Mark Christopher Hoover and wife, Bertha; daughters, Karen Hoover Thomas and husband, Anthony, and Susan Hoover Lowenbach and husband, Matthew; and grandchildren, Blake Thomas, Shannon and James Hoover, and Nina and Noah Lowenbach. Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, September 29, 2011, at Pawleys Island Presbyterian Church with Pastor Frank Holsclaw officiating. The family requests that memorial donations be made to the American Cancer Society. Arrangement by Myrtle Beach Funeral Home, 843-293-4505.
