Keith Powers Obituary

Keith William Powers Sr., 56, of Culpeper, Va., died on Monday, September 28, 2009, at Mary Washington Hospital. He was born on March 11, 1953, in Smith County, Va., to Naomi Boone Hite of Roanoke and the late William Harry Powers. Mr. Powers worked for Worth Inc. for over 30 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, hiking, gardening and watching western movies, especially with his grandson, Craig. He cherished his grandchildren deeply and will be remembered as a loving husband, father and grandfather. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Tammy Powers; his son, Keith W. Powers Jr., of Roanoke; his godson, Matthew Tolley, of Roanoke; and his stepchildren, Donald Caudill, of Culpeper, and Crystal Caudill, of Unionville. Additional survivors include two sisters, Theresa Wheeler, of Max Meadows, Va., and Debbie Steele, of Roanoke; five grandchildren, Craig Southard Jr., Wayne Ryder Jr., Hunter Ryder, Bradley Caudill and Zachary Caudill; two special friends, Worth Boone and Scott Reid, both of Roanoke; and best friend and hunting buddy, Mark McFalls, of Roanoke. A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. on Friday, October 2, 2009, at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper, Va., with the Rev. Steve Dodson officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to Tammy Powers, c/o Found and Sons Funeral Chapel. An online guestbook is available at www. foundandsons.com. Found and Sons Funeral Chapel of Culpeper is handling the arrangements.

Tammy and family,
The passing of Keith was a awful loss to everyone. Please know that we are here to help in any way we can. Keith will be dearly missed by all. I guess god needed him more.
