Remembering a good friend who was a great mom and grandmother. She loved her family more than anything. I am glad she is free from her body, whole and young again.
I miss you and think about you every time I ride by your house. I send love and blessings to you.

Goodbye Lucy Lowe
Lucy
Vibrant and fearless,
A young girl riding bareback,
Long hair streaming.
A mother,
Fiercely loving,
Guarding and guiding.
A grandmother,
Proud and present.
A friend,
Witty and kind.
Loving voices softly sing
As bright blue eyes
Close against affliction.
The young girl awakens,
Laughing,
And rides bareback,
Long hair streaming,
Into Paradise.

I am so sorry to hear of Lucy's passing. Although we didn't work directly with each other we would talk every time we met in the halls of the Water Authority and she would share pictures of her family including her fur family. I was so grateful that she took Wilson in when I found him as a stray and had too many cats of my own to keep him. And it is good to know he will continue to live on with Lucy's wonderful family. Please find solace in memories of Lucy.

Emily and Kimberly, I worked with Lucy in Utility Billing with Roanoke County before there was a Water Authority. We dealt with a lot and survived. Our good times out weighed the rough times. She was a good friend and co-worker. I use to pick on her every time she had a new dog or cat. I would tell her that there was a sign up on the Parkway that told the cats and dogs that if they needed a home to go to Lucy's House.
Lucy loved her family. We would trade stories about our families too.
Keeping you both and your families in my prayers.

I want to extend sympathy to Kim, her children, and to her mom, Nadine, her sister and husband Emily and David and her Neice Sarah and family. I knew her during my teenage and college years through her brother Chuck. So sorry for your loss. I know she will be greatly missed. God bless you all!!

My sister Lucy was the middle child, the peacemaker. She hated conflict. She loved cats, dogs, horses -all animals. She saved many a snake from Mom´s hoe. She rescued a newborn puppy from a trash bag on the side of the road and raised him to a big, lovable, black lab. She rescued many cats, her favorite being a yellow cat named BoKitty. We shared a bedroom until I went to college. She followed me three years later to Radford University where she rode on the riding team The Redcoats. She bravely jumped hay bales and fences only falling once breaking her collar bone. Soon she was on her horse, Judy, riding again and teaching my daughter to ride and then her daughter and later her grandchildren. They will all miss her terribly, as will I. On April 3, I´m sure she met BoKitty again, this time on the Rainbow Bridge.
