We were so sorry to hear about Bob’s death. One problem of not living in Roanoke is that we seldom get to see our many friends living there that we grew up with. Gladys, if there is anything we can help you with please let us know. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

Gladys, My prayers are with you at this special time. I have missed seeing you the last few years but always enjoyed being with you and your Mom and Dad. Never met your Bob, but know he was your best friend. I do not drive much now because of my eye disease but will certainly be thinking of you and your family. Gladys, Wendy, Michelle, Deb (and all the guys too)-
I will keep fond memories of our times together in front of the TV watching football or battling the waves at Myrtle. Bob was quite the raconteur and was always surprising me with his range of exploits. I will miss those moments.

Crossing the Bar

Sunset and evening star,
And one clear call for me!
And may there be no moaning of the bar,
When I put out to sea,

But such a tide as moving seems asleep,
Too full for sound and foam,
When that which drew from out the boundless deep
Turns again home.

Twilight and evening bell,
And after that the dark!
And may there be no sadness of farewell,
When I embark;

For tho' from out our bourne of Time and Place
The flood may bear me far,
I hope to see my Pilot face to face
When I have crost the bar.
