North Augusta, SC - Funeral Services for Joseph Herman Weil, Jr., 82, who entered into rest September 15, 2023, were held morning at 10 o'clock from the Posey Funeral Chapel, Rev. Ashley Buchanan officiating. The family received friends one hour prior to the service. Graveside Services were held Tuesday at 12 noon at Mt. Olivet United Methodist Church Cemetery, Fleming, GA.

Mr. Weil was born March 11, 1941, in Tupelo, MS to the late Joseph and Angie Weil. He was a graduate of Tupelo High School and Itawamba Community College. Mr. Weil earned his bachelor's degree in math and social studies and Master of Education in school administration from Mississippi State University as well as a sixth-year specialist degree in school administration from the University of Georgia. He taught math in Cobb and Rockdale counties in Georgia, serving as an elementary school teacher in Rockdale County, Georgia. Mr. Weil was the Principal at J.H. House Elementary School in Conyers, GA for 22 years. He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church and the Stillwell Sunday School Class. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Celestia Raulerson Weil; siblings, Robert Weil, William T. Weil, JoAnn Duncan and Jeanette Moore.

Survivors include brother, Steve Weil (Linda), Tupelo, MS; sisters-in-law, Lee Weil, Meridian, MS, LaMyra Raulerson, Glennville, GA and Cheryl Wiggins, North Augusta, SC; several nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews.

Honorary Pallbearers will be members of the Stillwell Sunday School Class.

Joe's remark to all is: "Live your life by the Golden Rule."

Sending condolences to family and friends with a special tribute to the teachers and staff who served under his leadership at J. H. House Elementary School in Conyers, Georgia.. I was one of those teachers. He was a wonderful principal who was loved and respected by so many. He was a kind and caring man and will be forever missed.

Mr. Joseph Weil was the Principal at J.H. House Elementary School when my son attended in the late sixties and early seventies. My son was so fond of Mr. Weil that he kept going back to visit while in high school and as an adult.

Mr. Weil was fair, kind, and understanding with his students and had such a gentle demeanor about him. It was my family's pleasure to know him and have him serve as a Principal in my son's school.

Rest in peace, kind sir, and my condolences to the family and friends. You had a great impact on many young people over your lifetime!

Mr. Weil was my Geometry teacher at Rockdale High in 69-70. He was one of my favorite teachers, and I thought a great deal of him. I am very sorry to hear about this. He was a very good man.

Mr. Weil was a favorite principal of so many at J.H. House. I can remember him telling us to come line up quietly for our bus every afternoon. Always welcoming and knew everyone's name. I am so sorry for your loss.
