Barney Dudek Obituary
Barney A. Dudek, 103, passed away on Saturday, August 2, 2025, at Waterville Residential Care Center.
Mr. Dudek was born in New York Mills, NY, on June 16, 1922, a son of the late Andrew and Josephine (Szwedo) Dudek. He was raised and educated in New York Mills, where he graduated from New York Mills High School. Barney was a proud U.S. Army Veteran, serving in World War II from 1942 – 1945. Mr. Dudek retired from the Bendix Corporation after more than 35 years of loyal service.
He was formerly a member of the Edward Bator Post, P.L.A.V. #21 and had served as past president of the United Steelworkers Labor Union.
In his free time, he enjoyed golfing.
Affectionately known as "Uncle Benny," he cherished his close relationships with his siblings, nieces and nephews, sharing countless holidays and special occasions together, creating lasting family memories.
He is survived by a brother, Stephen E. Dudek, of Clayville; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by a sister and her husband, Helen (Bud) Trombley; three brothers and their wives, Walter (Jane), Mathew (Stella) and John (Eleanor) Dudek; and a sister-in-law, Catherine Carol Dudek.
In keeping with Barney's wishes there will be no public calling hours. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend his Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday morning, August 16, 2025 at 9:30 a.m. from Sacred Heart and St. Mary Our Lady of Czestochowa Church, 201 Main St., New York Mills. The family will receive visitors at the conclusion of Mass. Interment will take place in St. Stanislaus and Casimir Cemetery in Whitestown.
