Richard Pfeiffer Obituary

Richard G. (Jerry) Pfeiffer, 70, died on May 12, 2023 at home, in the arms of his loving wife, Donna. After a brief illness, Jerry was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer on May 1st. Jerry lived those last days much the same way he lived his entire life, fiercely determined and strong.
Jerry is preceded in death by his parents, Robert Pfeiffer Sr. and Shirley (McMinn) Pfeiffer; brother, Robert Pfeiffer Jr.; beloved grandmother, Helena McMinn; and too many dear friends lost much too soon.
Jerry is survived by his devoted wife, Donna Winn; stepson, Richard Lenio, of North Carolina; grandchildren, Winn and Dev; sister-in-law, Diane (Winn) and Wayne Cross; brothers-in-law, Thomas and Diane Winn and Kevin and Maureen Winn; sister, Nancy (Pfeiffer) and Michael McElwain, of Framingham, MA; and many nieces and nephews.
Jerry worked for the City of Rome, Outside Highway Department and might be most widely remembered for photos in the local newspaper driving a snow plow with his beloved St. Bernard riding shotgun. Jerry was a member of the Wickwire Fish and Game Club, a place he loved to be with his friends for so many years. One of the hopes that sustained him during his final days was the thought of getting in a golf cart, again, with his friends. He put many miles on his motorcycle, looking really good doing it, even when his saddlebags had a yellow duck umbrella among other gifts popping out for his littlest niece. He loved his family and lifelong friends dearly and Jerry will remain where he has always been, in our hearts.
In lieu of flowers, donations would be appreciated to the Dana Farber Cancer Institute, where the search for detecting, treating and curing cancer continues.
A Celebration of Jerry's life will be held in Rome on July 9 at 1p.m. Family and friends are requested to please reach out by June 20th for details and to assist us with a head count of those attending by calling or emailing [email protected].

I remember cousin Jerry going across the street to Aunt Catherine´s house and he´d be wearing a gorilla mask! It was too funny! That was probably in the 1960´s. I´m very sorry for your loss.
