Clarence Klepper Obituary

CLARENCE 'KLEP' H. KLEPPER, 93 ROCKFORD - Clarence "Klep" H. Klepper, 93, of Rockford died at 10:20 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 20, 2010, in his home. Born April 18, 1916, in Frankfort, the son of Fred and Bertha (Fink) Klepper. Married Helen J. Waldhauser on May 12, 1978, in St. Paul, Minn.; she died Sept. 21, 2003. Klep served as a captain in the U.S. Army during World War II. Member of Court St. United Methodist Church. Survived by children, Steve (Heidi) Klepper of Anacortes, Wash., Gary (Rain) Klepper of Paonia, Colo., and Barbara (Michael) Rogers of Bastrop, Texas; grandchildren, Orion, Skyler, Jessica and Jeremy; great grandchild, Alisse; stepchildren, Gregg (Wendy) Waldhauser of Midlothian, Va., Kim (John) Reid of Caledonia, Lynn (Mark) Eskow of Hugo, Minn., and Kristen (Jay) Hughes of Rockford; stepgrandchildren, Kristopher (Alyssa) Waldhauser, Kelly (JC) Carter, Sarah (Jeff) Meyers, Maren (Mark) Shipton, Rebekah (Mike Landi) Reid, Rachael Reid, Zach Eskow, Emily, Kyle and Eric Hughes; stepgreat-grandchilden, Bailey, Molly and Kaitlyn. Predeceased also by brother, Robert (Dorothy) Klepper. Memorial service at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 27, in Court Street United Methodist Church, 215 N. Court St., with visitation from 10:30 to 11:15 a.m.; the Rev. Keith Kelsey-Powell will officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the family for a memorial to be established at a later date. Klep & Helen were my neighbors for about ten years when I lived in my previous home. They were wonderful neighbors and just all-around great people. They made an impact on my live and I'm sure on many others. Klepper will be greatly missed ... as Helen has been before him.

We didn't know Klep very long before we moved away from Rockford, but his wife, Helen, was a longtime dear friend. We send our sympathy to his loved ones.
