Dennis McCoy Obituary
Dennis W. "Denny" McCoy, 70, of Winnebago. Denny's struggles ended peacefully on Thursday, January 21, 2016. He is no longer waiting for "the call" and he is not suffering anymore. Denny put up a courageous fight for a long time and is now at peace. He was born on May 31, 1945, in Rockford, the son of Howard L. and Cathryn M. (Hinton) McCoy. Denny graduated from Winnebago High School in 1963. Throughout his life, he was a "people" person and loved closing a good deal with a handshake. From Winnebago Carpets to The White Star, ABC Supply Co. and finally McCoy & Co., Denny was his own boss. He thoroughly enjoyed making music with his friends and could often be found on a stage in the Midwest. Denny is survived by his 2 children, Melissa "Missy" (Tim) Brusnahan of Omaha, NE., and Mark (Stacy) McCoy of Brodhead, WI; as well as his 3beloved granddaughters, Melanie, Jessica and Charli Brusnahan; 6 sisters; 2 brothers; and former wife, Loretta. He was predeceased by his parents and sister, Sharon Rampenthal.
Gathering of family and friends from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., Sunday, January 24, 2016, in Genandt Funeral Home, 602 N. Elida St., Winnebago. Cremation rites have been accorded. Denny has been a part of our family's life for a lifetime we were blessed to know him. My dad Denny and Dick have played together for most of my life and he was a wonderful friend to my Dad. Prayers for your family
