H. Patterson Obituary
H. James "Jim" Patterson, 87, of Rockton passed away Saturday, December 31, 2016, surrounded by his loving family, after a long illness. Born June 30, 1929, in Sycamore, Jim was raised on the family farm, the son of Harold F. and Winifred (Renwick) Patterson. He married Gwendolyn Nelson March 14, 1987, in Rockton. Jim attended Northern Illinois University, before proudly serving in the United States Air Force from 1951-1955. He was co-owner of Janar Tool until 1992, before finishing his career at Advanced Machine and Engineering. Jim enjoyed hunting, fishing, and especially golf; but he most treasured spending time with family and friends. Survivors include wife, Gwen; children, Douglas, Bradley (Susan), Ronald (Pam), Nancy Patterson; stepson, Jeffery (Simone) Welter; grandchildren, Dylan, Lucas, Benjamin (Cara), Erika (Nate), Kimberly, Brianna, Allison, Ryan; and 4 great-grandchildren. Predeceased by parents; son, Stephen Patterson; brother, John Patterson; and sister, Patricia Satterfield.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, January 5, 2017, in Honquest Family Funeral Homes with Crematory, Roscoe Chapel, 11342 Main St., Roscoe. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the family to be used in Jim's name at a later date. To share a memory or condolence please visit www.honquestfh.com.
