Joel Toelke Obituary

JOEL K. TOELKE, 44 LAKE SUMMERSET - Joel K. Toelke, 44, of Lake Summerset passed away Sunday, Nov. 2, 2008, in Monroe Clinic Hospital in Monroe. Born July 13, 1964, the son of Keith F. and Marlene M. (Stuckey) Toelke. Graduate of Dakota High School, Class of 1982. Married Kim Borgmann on March 28, 1987. He worked as a machinist for Larry Judd for 23 years. He was the offensive coordinator for the Dakota High School varsity football team for 17 years. His biggest coaching highlights were the 2005 and 2007 state championships and several conference championships. He was an avid sports fan of all sports and especially loved to play golf. Member of the Dakota Athletic Boosters. Joel's favorite vacation spot was Las Vegas. The light of Joel's life, at age 38, was the birth of their daughter, Tabytha. Surviving are wife, Kim of Lake Summerset; daughter, Tabytha of Lake Summerset; mother, Marlene Toelke of Rock City; grandmother, Bernice Stuckey of Davis; sisters, Julie (Larry) Chapman of Freeport and Jill (Sheldon) DeVries of Orangeville; brother, Kirk (Laura) Toelke of Red Oak, N.C.; brothers-in-law, Brian (Kath) Borgmann of Ridott, Dave (Mindy) Borgmann and Kenny (Michelle) Borgmann of Dakota, Joel (Jackie) Borgmann of Orangeville, Daniel Borgmann of Rock City; sister-in-law, Sheila Dornink of Dakota; mother-in-law, Mary Borgmann of Rock City; nieces, Sam and Nicole DeVries, Paige Toelke, Renee, Robyn, Taylor, Jordyn, Jackqui, Melinda Borgmann, Kendra Dornink; nephews, Kolt Toelke, Rian, Holden, Logan Borgmann, Kyle Dornink; uncles, Larry (Karla) Toelke of Dakota, Wayne (Marilyn) Toelke of Ridott, Merle (Bonnie) Stuckey of Davis, Bill (Marilyn) Stuckey of Milwaukee; aunt, Shirley (Merle) Goeke of Rock City. Predeceased by father, Keith; paternal grandparents, Vernon and Ila Toelke; maternal grandfather, Robert Stuckey; father-in-law, Virgil Borgmann; and niece, Randi Borgmann. Funeral service at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 8, at Dakota High School, with Deacon Dick Mulcahy officiating. Burial in Irish Grove Church Cemetery. Visitation from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 7, at Dakota High School. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in his name.
