Joyce Stankiewicz Obituary
Joyce Stankiewicz, 76, of Rockford, died October 21, 2017, surrounded by her loving family. She was born to Ervin and Helene Smerlinski, October 15, 1941, in Milwaukee, WI. She married Eugene Stankiewicz on April 4, 1964, in Milwaukee. Joyce is survived by husband, Eugene; sons, Peter (Abby) of Rockford and Mark of Green Bay, WI; daughter, Jeanne (John) Hawk of Minonk; grandsons, Griffin, Nicholas, and Andrew; step grandchildren, Daniel (Janelle) Hawk, and Ginny (Darrin) Leasure; and step great-grandsons, Adam and Lee. She also leaves behind her dog, Patches.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, October 25, at Fitzgerald Funeral Home, 1860 S. Mulford Rd., Rockford, IL 61108, with rosary at 7:45 p.m. Viewing also from 10 to 10:45 a.m. followed by mass at 11 a.m. Thursday, October 26, at St. Rita Catholic Church, Father John Evans celebrant. Gene, Peter, Mark, and Jeanne, I'm so sorry to hear about the passing of your wife and mom. She was certainly the mom on the other end of the street and was greatly supportive of me and Doug as well as our grandparents. With deep sympathy and my hope for your healing.
