Sharon Otten Obituary

SHARON OTTEN 1949 TO 2009 ROCKTON - Sharon Otten passed away Sept. 13, 2009, surrounded by her loving family, after a fiercely determined, but all too short course of pancreatic cancer. Sharon was full of life and was blessed with a caring family and many, many wonderful friends. Member of the Lombardi Club Auxiliary and truly enjoyed her participation in the club and its activities. She was also an important component in the monthly meeting of the J. C. Penney Rockford store employees. Her thoughts were filled with the memories of all her good friends and co-workers. Sharon was a strong and encouraging aunt and great-aunt to her many nieces and nephews. She loved these kids more than words can express. All of her sisters and brothers will not forget her support and love. She wanted to especially thank her employer, Alpha Controls and Services, for every ounce of their "above and beyond" support throughout the long and convoluted course of her illness. Her family is also extremely appreciative of their kindness and help. Our "thank you" goes out also to Beloit Regional Hospice, for all their abundant care, concern and help during this difficult time. Sharon is and will be greatly missed, especially at Christmas, her favorite time of year. We are all moved by her gifts of family, friendship and feelings of love and compassion. Celebration of Sharon's life from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 25, in Honquest Family Funeral Homes with Crematory, Roscoe Chapel, 11342 Main St., Roscoe. Memorials to the family. Although I did not know Sharon personally, I do work with her brother-in-law, Jim Weeter, and she sounds like she was a great lady. My prayers have been with the family and will continue. God bless this life that touched so many. She is in a better place and watching over her family now. May you find peace in knowing your loved one is watching over you.

I am sorry for your loss. Sharon lived right across the hallway from my Dad, who passed away on August 28th, 2009. Although he may have only spent a short time at his apartment, Sharon was always there for him. She occasionally cooked him meals and took him to the grocery store. Sharon was a very dear and caring person. My Dad truly appreciated all that she did for him and so did we. Our thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time.

I was fortunate enough to get work with Sharon thru my employer. She was a special lady with a huge heart. Her smile would make the day so bright. I will miss her. My deepest sympathy.
