WILLIAM 'BILL' CAMPBELL BELVIDERE - William "Bill" Campbell, 67, passed away Monday, November 3, 2014, after a battle with cancer that went all the way to the 10th round. They told him 2 weeks; he fought to the end - 18 months! Bill was a longtime resident of the Belvidere, IL area. He began work at Chrysler in 1965, and then was elected Financial Secretary of UAW Local 1268 in 1981. He was known and loved by the thousands of people whose lives he touched; never losing an election through his retirement in 2013. His true passion in life was his beloved Union, the UAW. His most cherished award for his service is the Walter P. Reuther Distinguished Service Award, presented to him in 2013. Bill is survived by his mother, Lucille Campbell; daughter, Michelle (Dan) Boland; son, Brandon (Katherine) Campbell; grandchildren, Shelby and Brandon Jr. Campbell; step-grandchildren, Taylor and Tristan Lewandowski; along with special niece, Bridgett Kedzie. He is predeceased by his father, Willis Campbell; brother, Richard (Sandy) Campbell; and sister and brother-in-law, Gloria and Dennis Ormond. Memorial Service to be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday, November 9, 2014, at the UAW Local 1268 Hall, 1100 West Chrysler Drive, Belvidere, IL 61008.
