Catherine MULJAT Obituary

MULJAT, Catherine Catherine Muljat was born in Sacramento on September 17th, 1940 and passed away peacefully on December 31st 2014 after a 3-year battle with cancer at the age of 74. Catherine was raised in Sacramento and attended McClatchy High School where she was an active student participating in student government, theatre and as head yell leader for the cheerleading squad. Catherine attended Chico State University to pursue her teaching credential. Catherine married Anthony Muljat (Tony) on July 14th 1962 and together they raised their 3 children. Catherine always enjoyed good times with her family and friends. Some of the highlights included regular trips with her children and grandchildren to such destinations as Santa Cruz, Hawaii and Lake Tahoe. She was always up for a fun road trip and a joy to have along. Catherine was an avid sports fan, and loved to watch a variety of sports on television. Her passion in her later years was her grandchildren. She actively participated in all their lives and cherished the time she spent with them. Catherine was predeceased by her Mother Isabell Daugherty and her Father Marvin Daugherty, Brother Ellis Daugherty (Lefty), and his Wife Ada Anne Daugherty. Catherine is survived by her Husband Anthony Muljat, Sister Susan Ugan and her Husband Jim Ugan, Sister Carol Daugherty O'Connor and her Husband Kyle O'Connor, son Anthony Muljat and his Wife Julie, son Michael Muljat and his Wife Sabrina, and son Gary Muljat and his Wife Jolene. She is also survived by her beloved Grandchildren, Anthony Muljat (Nick), Sydney Muljat and Jessi Muljat and many nieces and nephews. We would like to give special thanks to the folks at the Chateau at Capitol Avenue for the wonderful care given to Catherine over the last 6 months. We are also very grateful to Sutter hospice for all their efforts and compassion. Lastly a big thank you to Sharon Quessenberry, who was always available for anything we ever needed over the last 3 years. At Catherine's request there will be no services. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Catherine's memory to the Jenna and Patrick Foundation of Hope at 400 Capitol Mall, Suite 650, Sacramento CA 95814 or to the Volunteers of America at 3434 Marconi Avenue, Sacramento CA 95821.

We lost a great lady who had a passion to enjoy life. Dedicated to her children and their families.
I personally have so many fond memories dating back to Jr. High school where we developed a bond for life.
Having spoken to her about a year ago she said "I am doing just fine Jimmy" as this lady never complained.
My prayers and thoughts are with the entire family.
May her memory be eternal!

May God be with each of you as you struggle with your loss. Each of you will go through the process in a different way and take a different length of time.
