Daniel Joseph Fournet, 91, of El Dorado Hills, California, passed away peacefully on August 14, 2025. He was born in Lafayette, Louisiana, the son of Ann Aurora Labbe and Jean Jacques Fournet, and was the ninth of ten children.
Daniel, with his deep faith, proudly served his country as a Lieutenant Colonel in the United States Air Force before continuing his aviation career as a commercial airline pilot. He flew for 32 years with Pan American World Airways and United Airlines, cherishing the opportunity to see the world from the sky.
He was married for over 69 years to his beloved high school sweetheart, Robbie Ann Fournet, who survives him. While they continued to call Lafayette, Louisiana home, they raised their children in Danville, California, and later made their home in El Dorado Hills. They raised four children: John Byron Fournet, William Daniel Fournet, Linda Ann Olejnik Sullivan, and Robbie Adrian Mahlman. He is also survived by his sister, Anna Louise Fournet.
Daniel was a proud grandfather, lovingly known as Papa, and deeply loved by his twelve grandchildren: Jonelle, Linda, Jack, Jaison, Trevor, Justin, Megan, Daniel, Jacob, Thomas, Adrianne, and one who predeceased him, Nick, who remains forever loved and remembered by the family. He was also blessed with four great-grandchildren: Charles, Spencer, Kennedy, and Chloe.
