He was born in Oklahoma City and is survived by his wife Laura Emery; father B.E. Emery; mother Doris Hill; step father Arthur Hill; sister Tina Woodward (Dwight); brother Earnest Connley, 6 children, 7 grandchildren, special friend Carman and a host of other loving relatives. Friends are invited for visitation on June 19th from 3 to 7pm at MORGAN JONES CHAPEL OF CHIMES, 4200 Broadway and may attend his service on June 20th at Antioch Progressive Baptist Church, 7650 Amherst Street. Interment private.

Darrell Emery Was my cousin's Boliver Emery's son. But lived his life as my nephew. His mother Doris Is my sister as always. We love each other . Tina is his sweet sister. Thank u to all, who have sign this. It means alot to me and my family. My name is Lewis Allen Darrell is my uncle & only real uncle I have ever had. I am and will always be his only nephew. To Carmen and Darrells family....Please know that our thoughts and prayers are with you. The world lost a great and talented man but look what Heaven gained! I can see Darrell up there remodeling and taking over Gods chior!
Darrell was a Godsend to me when I first met him. He did some work on our home and without his generosity it would still be unfinished. He became a friend to our family from the start.
I know he had a passion for music and was very talented. I know he loved Carmen and his family very much, especially his Mother. He touched the lives of many people and will not be forgotten.
