MONZON, Dector Wayne
Dector was born on September 9, 1957, and passed away unexpectedly on August 24, 2009. Preceded in death by his father Libby Monzon, Dector is survived by his mother Josephine Monzon, his loving partner Lisa Cirill, daughter Stephanie Monzon and Ann Doersch, son Justin Monzon and Jessica Helwick, and brothers David Monzon and Salita, Denis Monzon and Maxie, and Donald Monzon. He was born and raised in Sacramento and attended Rio Americano High School. Known for his remarkable work ethic, Dector was a dedicated employee of Teichert Construction for the past 30 years, working as a highly respected foreman and grade setter. Family, friends, and coworkers will remember him as a fun-loving man and visionary leader with integrity who was capable, reliable, thorough, intelligent, and down-to-earth. He had both pride in his work and in his home, keeping high standards for himself and admiring this quality in others. Dector was steadfast in his loyalty to his family and commitment to his Teichert colleagues. He enjoyed a variety of sports, loved classic rock n roll, appreciated a great sense of humor, and took much pleasure in the outdoors, especially the ocean and the American River. A celebration of Dector's life will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, August 29, at the picnic area across from the golf course clubhouse at Ancil Hoffman Park, 6700 Tarshes Drive, Carmichael, CA 95608.
