Let me sleep, for my soul is intoxicated with love.
Let me rest, for my spirit has had its bounty of days and nights.
Dry your tears, my loved ones, for I have passed a mountain peak;
and my soul is soaring in the firament of complete and unbound freedom.
The songs of the waves and streams and the voices of the throngs are reduced to silence.
Now, I can hear only the music of eternity, for I am at peace.

Uncle Don, you will be missed and in my thoughts forever. My only regret is you not having the opportunity to pull someone's lips as promised (smile). Sho you right!

Love always,
"Nichole"

Phyliss and family. It was indeed a pleasure knowing Don. He had that special charismatic way about him. He was a good person and individual to know and converse with. I worked with him at the Folsom Office and remained in contact upon leaving. You can never have too many friends. The Lord puts special people in your lives to make you stronger and wiser. He was a man of wisdom.
Family, just know that Don is in a better place.
Keep steadfast in your faith! The Lord will see you through this loss and much more.
Colleague and friend.

Typical
that all the right words
would flow so effortlessly in your absence,...
As a result
I am now
Captain
of my ship.
remembering when I sailed with you.
now we're sailing alone...
Even with my mind taking that mental dip
into what was and what could have been.
I know that you know my heart
So I won't begin
to punish myself
for all the times I didn't
call you like I was supposed to.
Acknowledge enough of how much I appreciate you.
but I was on pursuit
of that thing we call happiness
with out you in my life
I couldn’t even fathom it
so that is why I 'd rather let
these words transcend
and even if they haven't gotten to you yet.
it fills me with joy to know that
you cared enough to intervene
to call me
to worry
to advise me
and I am trying to be strong
but you know its a big part of me
that wishes you were home
and that I could call you
and we could just sit on the phone.

You are such a wonderful/man person. At your memorial service a woman told me and Tinya that if we live our life the way you did, we will have a good life. So many people have called & came by just to express the love they had for you. When you were here, I admired you and now I admire you even more. You fought a long hard battle for a long time. I am so proud of you. Now you are resting up above with your father, friends and family members. I will see you again my sweet daddy. I miss you and love you terribly!! Not a day will go by that you will not be thought about. Your daughter, Lakisha

I do believe this is the same gentleman who was a resident of an apt complex I lived in about 11 years ago... the photo looks familiar. Don was always friendly. When I moved out, he did the walk-through with me as the mgr wasn't available and he said "you will be missed". I always remembered that and felt it was a very nice and thoughtful thing to say!
