Eldon Easter Obituary

EASTER, Eldon Leroy

Passed away peacefully on March 12, 2005, with his loving family at his side. He was 78. Eldon is survived by the love of his life, Rosemary Easter (Bulcher), from Kimberly, Idaho. They were married 58 years. In addition to his wife he is survived by his three daughters, Sandra and husband Stacy Graham, Kathryn and husband, William Baxter, Mary Denise and husband, Steven Kramer. Survived by three of his 9 siblings, Erma Fahrenholtz, Vada Julian and Eleanor Scofield. He will be greatly missed by his 8 grandchildren, Dena (Rob Brand), Tony Graham (Shannon Lahola, his fiancee), Valerie (Koye McGuire), Andrea (Ashley Adams), Damen Graham (Annie), Meghan Baxter, Brenda Baxter and Jake Kramer. A great joy in his later years was the birth of his 10 great-grandchildren, Michael and Nicholas Brand, Ashley Graham, Mitchell and Katie McGuire, Anna Rose Adams, Ethan, Abigail, Emma and Lillian Graham. His faith was the cornerstone of his life, being a daily Communicant at St. Joseph Parish in Marysville, a member of the Knights of Columbus 3rd Degree, founder and owner with his wife and daughters of Easter's Catholic Books and Gifts in Sacramento. Eldon was an accomplished Rosary maker and his Rosaries were often given as gifts with a request for prayers... they have been sent all over the world. He also spent many years in prison ministry while living in Washington State. He joined the US Army shortly after his 18th birthday and served in the South Pacific during the closing days of WWII. In 1966 he moved from Hutchinson, Kansas to Sacramento where he was employed by The Sacramento Bee and retired from there in 1977. Eldon had many hobbies, including woodworking and fishing. Rosary will be on Wednesday, March 16 at 7:00pm at Lipp and Sullivan, 629 D St. Marysville. Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Thursday, March 17, at 10:00am, St. Josephs Catholic Church, 223 8th St., Marysville. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Sacramento. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Scholarship Fund at St. Maria Goretti Academy, 6245 King Rd., Loomis, California 95650.

Aunt Rosemary, Sandy, Kathy, and Denise Our thoughts and prayers are with you. We will all miss Uncle Eldon. Even though we were not together often, his picture makes it seem otherwise to me. What "I" see now? His wit, wisdom, humor, love, and most of all, FORGIVENESS. Love you all Brad

Denise and Family,

I am so very sorry to hear about the loss of your father, and grandfather. The loss of a loved one is so very difficult, but God obviously needed him home. We will remember you and your family in our prayers, and God will bless you with strength and guidance during this most difficult time. Eventually your tears will be replaced with loving memories and laughter.

God's Blessings.
