Gold River, California - On July 15, 2021 Ian Huffman passed away very suddenly at his home in Woodland Hills, CA at the age of 43. He was born July 17, 1977 in Sacramento, CA to his parents Jim Huffman (deceased) and Eileen Struck. He leaves behind his wife Jaime and three children, two sons Sean and Aaron and daughter Lauren. He also leaves his half sister Bonnie Dozier, half brother Emil Beffa and his two grandmothers Beverly Struck and June Huffman. Also surviving are his uncles Tom Huffman, Bob Huffman, Eric Struck and aunt Donna Struck.
Ian served honorably in the United States Marine Corp for twenty years. He had multiple deployments including Okinawa, Indonesia, South Korea and the Japan earthquake relief. He also spent time in the Middle East where he served two deployments to Afghanistan and one to Iraq, where he logged 350 hours of combat flight time as a helicopter air crewman.
Ian received numerous awards and commendations including the Aviation and Maintenance Marine of the Year Award.
Lastly, he transferred to the Marine Helicopter Squadron HMX-1 in Quantico, Virginia, where he was assigned to Presidential Security Duty and in charge of all aircraft maintenance, including the Presidential helicopter Marine One.
There will be a memorial service held on Saturday, September 11 at 2:00 pm at Mount Vernon Mortuary, 8201 Greenback Lane in Fair Oaks CA .
