John Parrish Obituary

John Keith Parrish
November 13, 1956 - May 5, 2022
Carmichael, California - PARRISH, JOHN KIETH, of Carmichael, CA passed away in his home on May 5, 2022, with family by his side. He was born November 13, 1956, to the proud parents of Alfred and Mildred Parrish. Preceding him in death was his mother, Mildred Parrish, his sister, Lorrie Parrish, and his nephew, Isaiah Freeland. John was courageous, fiery, enthusiastic, kind and naturally generous. He had an immense love for his family, friends, and his dogs. The bond John had with his siblings was unbreakable. John cherished his relationships with the friends who became family, and the strangers who became friends. His relationships were truly one of a kind. Undeniably, John led with his heart, and it was his stubbornness that kept him on task. He loved to fish in Montana, Idaho and Alaska and the tales of those adventures will not long be forgotten. John lived life to the fullest. He graduated from Mira Loma high school in 1974 and excelled in sports. John was an All-State Champion wrestler in high school and college, as well as a contender in the Tough Man Competition. John never knew the feeling of defeat. And in true form, he was a fighter to the end. John brought about his vison when he established Palm Street Pub and Grill and through his hard work, dedication, and genuine spirit, the business became a staple in the community. He appreciated his staff for their commitment, and he held them in the highest regard. John is survived by his daughter Breeann Parrish, and his two grandchildren, Kruise, and Quitin. He leaves behind his father Alfred Parrish his brothers Ron, Larry, Michael, Richard, and his sister Elizabeth. John also had many very loved nieces and nephews. For those who had the privilege of knowing John, all know that he was one of a kind. He will be sadly missed and remarkably remembered.

Found a photo of one of our good times. We were so young and free, with no worries. Glad he was part of my life even for a short time. Rest well John, I will always remember you!

Holy TOP SHELF MARGARITA! VERY saddened to read of John's passing... We hadn't been in to "Palm Street" since about 2018, due to strict dietary mandates (it wasn't their foods' fault... food was STELLAR... it was our bodies which rebelled!)... From roughly 2005 through 2018 John and his staff provided nothing but joyous gustatory experiences... The turkey burger, calamari, mozzarella sticks... Lots of fun too: Pool, the Jukebox (I miss the ongoing contest with significant other whether or not a Led Zeppelin song would be played and dinner would be on her!!)... I appreciated how John always made time to come chat with us just to say "Hi", check on how we were, and update us on relevant subjects regarding his life... One cannot put a price on times like those... To John's spirit: Thank you sir... We discovered your fabulous establishment when we first moved here and you made us feel very welcomed, and very much at home... Jimmy is striking a chord to usher you up that "Stairway To Heaven"... RIP

I just found out about John´s passing. I met Him in High School and dated in the late 70´s. We had a very close circle of Friends and had some great times together. He was a Handsome nice Guy. Always very kind and respectful. He was also funny, loved Dogs, a good steak dinner, Corvette´s and rock n roll. Born in the best of times for sure. Sad he went so young. Sending my condolences to the entire Parrish Family. Debbie

I was so sorry to hear the passing of John. John and I started kindergarten together at Cowan school and continued into high school. I considered him a long time friend. We met up again at Palm Street where he would come and sit with my wife and I to talk about old times. Farewell old friend
