Mr. Olvera was a fantastic Spanish teacher and a most excellent human being. I think of him every time I speak Spanish. He had a sharp wit which my parents very much appreciated. Mr. Olvera had high standards with his teaching and grading, and in general pushed us hard to learn our lessons. I'll never forget when he we were all assigned to write a paper entirely in Spanish from his approved list. I chose "La Inquisición Española", which was NOT on the list, but he accepted it anyway. He said my paper was his very favorite.
He is still spoken of fondly, and his lessons and his humor live on still in myself and my family.

Mr. Olvera was my favorite teacher. He was so kind to me and I will always remember his classes. He let us make bunuelos in class! I still speak and understand Spanish well thanks to his lessons. He really was a great person.

Mr. Olvera will always be one of my favorite teachers of all time. Thanks for the laughs and education. I will never forget being invited to the "adults-only" Spain trip when you convinced me I could be the translator for a cave tour. Thanks for pushing me to be my best. You will always be remembered.

I can't speak enough good words about Mr. Olvera. I speak of him often and how much of an impact he had on my life. I hope to be as good a teacher as he was. I will remember his laughter and kindness to me always. Thanks for being a guiding light Mr. O.

To the best Spanish Teacher ever, Mr. Olveras! Rest in peace my friend. Thanks for your patience, laughs shared, your goofy looks of disappointment for us girls speaking in class but never really getting mad, funny stories and letting us be late to your class on occasion. You will be missed.
