Marilyn DUVAL Obituary

DUVAL, Marilyn Ann (Feil)
Passed away peacefully on August 19, 2010 with her loving daughter at her side. She was born in Sacramento on July 1, 1936 to Ted and Bernice Feil, a Sacramento family with roots dating back to 1860. Marilyn graduated from Sacramento High School in 1954 and later married Larry Duval, the love of her life. They went on to have two children and she devoted her life to caring for her family. She served as PTA president, as well as many other volunteer positions in the schools where her children attended. It was only later that she went to work for the Sacramento City Unified School District, where she assisted with the Hearing Screen Program. Marilyn was a loving wife, wonderful mother, devoted grandmother and great-grandmother who will be missed by many family and friends. Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents, Ted and Bernice Feil. She is survived by Larry Duval, her loving husband of 55 years, her two children Steve Duval and Carrie Swan (Bob), grandchildren Greg, Jeff, and Katelyn Swan, and great-granddaughter Isabella Swan. Marilyn is also survived by her two sisters Jackie Leverton (Lawrence) and Carolyn Kelly, along with many nieces and nephews. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Primrose and the ACC Nursing Home in Sacramento for the love and support provided to Marilyn and her family the last two years. There will be a memorial service on Friday, August 27, 2010 at 11 am at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Elk Grove, with a luncheon immediately following the service. If desired, donations may be made in honor of Marilyn Duval to the Alzheimer's Association.

My heart goes out to Mrs. Duval's children, grandchildren, great-grandchild, sibilings & especially Mr. Duval. My name is Karen Childs and I have been Mr & Mrs. Duval's mailperson for the last several years. I ALWAYS admired and held a tremendous respect for the obvious Love & Dedication that the Duval's shared. They were definitely a TEAM! I would NEVER EVER see one without the other. They were together because THEY WANTED TO BE out of Love and the desire to share our MOST PRECIOUS COMMODITY; our TIME!! Mr. Duval Sir many many people NEVER FIND the love of their lives. Not only did you guys find one another you two were Blessed with over 1/2 a Century of shared experience. I know it may not feel like much solace at this time of sorrow, but I GUARANTEE that in the future. When Blessings are counted and stock is taken into account. You will be amazed at how 'AFFLUENT' your partnership made you on a Spiritual Level. Good Karma allowed you to share 50 + years and THE LORDS PROMISE is what is gonna make your Reunion INEVITABLE!!!!! God Bless the WHOLE family.

I have such sweet memories of Marilyn from my childhood when Carrie and I were friends and Campfire Girls together. Marilyn was our leader! As time passed she became a good friend to my mom Mary. They shared such fun times together. My thoughts and prayers to all of you.
