Raymond BRIDGE Obituary

BRIDGE, Raymond Henry
Raymond was born on January 16, 1946 to the late Floyd and Sylvia Bridge and passed away on February 21, 2011, at the age of 65, after a short battle with cancer. He is survived by his loving wife Pat; children, Raymond Jr., April, Gina, and Patti (Edward); sisters, Jean (Warren), Elaine (Carlos), Darlene (Darren); brother and sister in laws Paul and Linda, Susan and Bob; and grandchildren, Michael, Kayla, Caitlin, Callista, Konnor, Riley, and Julian.

Raymond graduated from James Marshall HS, class of 1963. After graduation he enlisted in the United States Air Force and served proudly from 1963 to 1967. While in the service Raymond also earned his electrical engineering degree. Upon leaving the Air Force Raymond went to work for Western Electric (Pacific Bell Telephone Company) where he spent 30 fulfilling years.

Raymond was an avid golfer and a member of the Champions Golf Club. Raymond was also a charter member of the Nomads Golf Club since its inception in 1983. Raymond's association with these clubs resulted in friendships that lasted a lifetime. In addition to golf, Raymond was a lifelong 49ers and Kings fan.

Raymond and his beloved Pat loved to travel and visited many wonderful places during their life together, but their annual trip to Monterey, with the Nomads Golf Club, remained one of their favorite getaways. Raymond and Pat also enjoyed live theater, movies, music, and just living life together.

Raymond will be forever loved and missed.

A 'Celebration of Life' service will be held on Monday, February 28, 10:00 a.m., at East Lawn, 9189 East Stockton Blvd., Elk Grove, CA. In lieu of flowers, please donate in Ray's name to your favorite charity.

I remember Ray from some country western dancing that he did from around 15 years ago. There was a small group of us dancers that hung around together and we made some of our own parties and social activities. Ray was a real friendly man and he always had a smile on his face.

"The best dad ever" so many fond memories, so many stories ... too many to mention. Every day I remember you, every day I appreciate you, every day I yearn for you, hope to make you proud, hope to make you happy, and every day will be the same as yesterday. Trying to make you proud, trying to make you happy. From above you look down on me, and watch what you have accomplished 'cus you made me who I am and who I long to be.

So sorry to hear about Raymond. He should have had many more years! We grew up together on the same street and shared so many wonderful times. He was my "Best Man" in 1972 when I got married. Though we hadn't talked in many years he was never forgotten. Deepest sympathy to all of his family.
