Robert Corcoran Obituary

Robert Gerald Corcoran (Jerry) died on Tuesday, August 29, 2017 at the age of 88. Born on July 25, 1929 to Martha and Chris Corcoran in Gallup, New Mexico, Jerry was the oldest of four siblings. After graduation from Cathedral High School in Gallup, Jerry attended the University of New Mexico for his Pre-Dental studies. In 1954 he earned his degree in Dentistry (DDS) from Marquette University in Wisconsin where his father had previously obtained a DDS. Jerry served as an officer and dentist in the United States Air Force from 1954-1957. He was stationed at Travis Air Force Base, CA and also served in Morocco. Settling in California, Jerry established his dental practice in West Sacramento, retiring in 1990 after 36 years. Jerry had many interests including traveling, reading, tennis, playing piano and a passion for jazz. He was quite a good story-teller, was easy going and personable, and could engage in pleasant conversation with anyone. He is remembered fondly for his great sense of humor and his generous ways. Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife Marilyn, sons Dennis (Carla) and Chris (Kristie), granddaughter Maddy; stepsons Adam and Eric Lazar and their spouses and children; his sisters, Joan Depauli of Gallup and Helen Intintoli (Tony) of Vallejo; his numerous cousins, nephews, nieces, grandnephews and grandnieces, and dear friends. He was predeceased by his brother Tom. Jerry will be missed by all who knew him.
